Dear Greg, thank u for your brilliant clarifications. It seems to me very misleading when Nisargadatta Maharaj, Ramana Maharshi and others well known Non Dualistic Vedantic autorities (like James Swartz for example) make statements like ” the roll of the film of the entire life of a person is put in the fertilized egg at the moment of man and women in sexual union”. Those words are not exact, but the meaning that material universe exists prior appearing of a new body with it’s karmic blue print… Somehow no one ever explain, as far as all my reading is concern, how first vasana or samskara ever appeared and how karma is generated. It was clearly shown to me that the whole world appears in the mind and is only the nature of consciousness and can not be separately existing . It happened many years prior contacting the teachings of Non duality.
Please clarify and let me know your view point on those matters.
With much respect and hope that I will be able to meet you personally.

I am very grateful to you for making the possibility to contact you available so freely!
    Yours,

There are various accounts of karma and causation. They come in differing levels of subtlety. From objective accounts based on the physical gunas, to accounts that say that the mind creates everything, all the way to no-causality. At any one time in the path, the aspirant engages the account of karma that resonates the most clearly. And maybe debunks that one for another more subtle one.

It may seem like the job of these stories is to tell an accurate empirical truth. But as you go, you’ll see that the insight is something much more profound: through these stories one comes to appreciate the undividedness of things…..
